Ben,
In earlier JDK versions, it was sufficient to add a KeyListener to the component container. It would detect the keyevents and allow for specific actions to be detected and handled.(this.addKeyListener(this) etc..) if the class extended JFrame..

Starting with JDK 1.4, I must now get the DBTable.getTable().addKeyListener(xxxx) to get the keypresses detected. Are you aware of this and is this something that you intended to have happen?

Steve,

In JDK 1.4 , Sun has made lot of changes with the focus model, which has affected the KeyListeners. You have to now add the listeners to the JTable inside QuickTable to make it work. In next version I will add some methods like addKeyListener to DBTable, so that you don't need to call yourDBTable.getTable().addKeyListener()

Ben
